Germany eases visa norms for skilled employees from Non EU nations.

In order to tackle the critical situation, Germany has relaxed the limitations on immigration of several skilled groups from non EU nations. Initially the rules were very rigid and it was very difficult for a skilled worker to find Job in Germany.


Since 1970, this was the first time; the Government has consented with the union and corporate leaders over the relaxing of visa norms.

Previously the German companies can recruit non EU skilled workers, only when no suitable applicants are found inside the country or the EU. Now the rules have been relaxed, automobile constructors, electrical and mechanical engineers, and medical professional can be recruited outside the EU nations.


German Chancellor Angela Merkel said German corporations, which wish to employ specialists from non –EU nations need not present credentials obtained from the Federal Labor office.


The Chancellor said the concept of the government is 2 sided plans to tackle the specialists’ shortage by providing chance to the prospective accessible within the nation and also to make the nation more friendly for professional from the non EU nations.
