The ‘Invincible’ Sam Loxton dies at the age of 90

The grand Australian team’s eldest existing member Mr. Sam Loxton dies at the age of 90 at Gold coast. The legendary Sir Don Bradman described him cricket playing style as the belligerence’s very essence. Loxotn played as under Bradman’s captaincy in is ‘Invincible’ Australian team.

The Australian Newspaper, Sydney morning herald said Sam Loxton dies in the early hours of Saturday morning at Gold coast has served as the Victorian member of Parlimnet, former test selector, veteran of World War II, an immense narrator and a VFL forward.

The daily further said the death of Laxton makes the great Arthur Morris and fellow team mate Neil Harvey as the only surviving member of the indomitable post war Ashes Australian team.

Peter Young, the spokesperson of Cricket Australia also condole the death of Sam Loxton.

Mr. Young on his twitter wrote, that cricket Australia expressed it grief that one of the surviving member of the ‘Invincible team’ died in Qld during the night.

In the year 1948, against India, Sam Loxton had his international debut. Sam played for Australia in 12 tests and from the year 1972 to 81 worked as national selector.
