Sachin Tendulkar becomes Rajya Sabha MP

Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar started his new innings as Parliamentarian as he got sworn in as Rajyasabha member.
Since there was no parliament session, the Star Cricketer took oath in the chamber of Mr. Hamid Ansari, the chairman of Rajya sabha. Sachin took the oath in Hindi.


On April 27 2012, the Union government nominated the former Indian skipper to the Upper house.


Prior to taking Oath, Tendulkar was accompanied to the Parliament house by Mr. Rajiv Shukla, the minister of state for parliamentary affairs.


Because of the IPL matches, Tendulkar was unable to take as Oath as MP during the budget session.


In addition to Mr. Rajiv Shukla, other persons, to be present in the RS chairman’s chambers were Union Minister Harish Rawat and V.Narayanasamy and the Samajwadi party leader in the Upper house, Mr. Ram Gopal Yadav.


After taking oath as RS member, star batsman said it is a huge honor for him to be nominated to the Upper house.
