UAE Nagarathaar association’s 138th Discussion meet held at Dubai

Dubai: The United Arab Emirates Nagarathaar association’s discussion meet was conducted as “Sports day” on 17.02.2012, Friday, at Dubai’s Musrif Park.

The function commenced with the reciting of the Irai Vanakkam (holy Song) by Selvi. Alamu Kannan, the Kural by Selvan Rajesh Ramanathan and the Sangam song by Selvi Subasri Manikandan and Anusri Manikandan respectively.

Mr.K.T.Muthuraman, the secretary of the Sangam gave the welcome address. The chairman of the Sangam, Mr.Ramesh Ramanathan gave the presidential address. Under the topic of “Unnai nee Sothithupaar” (Experiment yourself) the members and their families took BMI test and through “Fitness first” team, the important of exercise was emphasized.

To motivate and encourage the tree growing habit in children, interactive games like “Maram Vallarpom (let us grow tree)” and “Nil Gavani Sel (Halt, look and Proceed)” were conducted, and it got immense response. For youths relay game called ‘Sagalakala vallavan (expert in all arts)” and entertainment game called “Raja Nadai’ attracted the attention of the spectators. Games like “Bandhu Para Para”, and “Feb 14” were held for the ladies and the couples respectively.
“Uri Adi” our traditional Tamil game was also conducted in a grand manner. All the members actively took part in this game.

To encourage and make all the participants to actively take part in the game, all of them were formed into four groups and team games were held.In this conference, the electronic magazine called ‘‘Pettagam” was released and it was received by the special guests In this meet, the main objective of receiving and assessing the marriage and education assistance applications were conducted. In the general meet, a unanimous decision of offering assistance on all the application was reached.

Prizes were disturbed to the winners of various competitions. With the thanking address given by the Deputy Secretary, Mr.O.RM.O.Ramantahn, the function came to a happy end.
