Sri Lankan Cricket board to take utmost safety measures against the bookies in the T20 world cup

New Delhi: In the midst of details of bookies intending to aim the T20world cup to be conducted in the later part of this year, the SLCB (Sri Lankan Cricket Board) said that it would take “highest safety measures” to make sure that the “unnecessary elements “are not mixed up in cricket.


Media reports says that the bookies would gather in Sri Lanka from Sept 18 to Oct 7 during the T20 world cup for match fixing, and to combat them the SLCB has made detailed arrangements.


Nishanta Ranatunga, the SLC Secretary said that he is not aware of any such kind of plan, however assured that they will take adequate precautionary measures to make sure that the bookies are not part of the game.


Mr.Ranatunga said they have not heard anything of that kind, it is a usual procedure and that they will pursue with the aid of the ICC and the intelligence bureaus of Sri Lanka to keep a vigil on the visitors coming to the island nation and what is occurring.


The secretary said that they have not heard anything of that type. That is not on the program and till now no passing remark has been made. He assured that sufficient precautionary measures will be undertaken to ensure that the unruly elements are not permitted to enter the game.


Information also utters that the around last week of may, the anti Corruption unit of ICC had a meeting with the officials of the Delhi Police crime branch pertaining to the details about the intention of the bookies to involve in the T20 world cup.
