Rathlin Island

One of the favorite getaways is the Rathlin island in Iceland. It is off the County Antrim coast .It is locates in Boyle district in the northern most tip of Northern Island. It has a population of just over 100 people. The Rathlin Island in the shape of a reverse L- shape. From east to west, it measures from 6km (4 miles) and from north to west it measures 4km (2.5 miles)

From Ballycastle if you travel to Rathlin Island by ferry, you can have the facility of bringing your own car. With your car you can travel the island which is only a few miles in circumference. You can rent a cottage at Rathlin Island.

When you reach mill bay, beautiful rocky cliff will come across your sight. You can also the seals saluting at you. You can also have a glimpse of the Rathlin island harbor .It give a panaromic view.


At Rathlin Island you can have a look at the tens of thousands of sea birds which include the common guillemots, puffins, kittiwakes and razorbills etc.
