GWC ‘authorised service contractor’ for UPS in Qatar

Qatar’s leading logistics provider Gulf Warehousing Company has signed an agreement to become the “authorised service contractor’ for UPS for express parcel service in Qatar from June. The agreement allows GWC to provide UPS products and services, including express parcel delivery, as well as access to the UPS global network in more than 220 countries and territories. UPS is the world’s largest package delivery company and a leading provider of specialised transportation and logistics services. According to GWC, enhanced express parcel service in Qatar will translate into an improved service portfolio for Qatari customers including better pick-up and delivery times and the option of integrated solutions including multi-modal offerings, contract logistics and brokerage. There, it said, will also be an emphasis on improved technology to provide customers with shipping tools, visibility tools and track and trace tools. “This partnership will help local and international businesses within Qatar by offering both speed of transit and a high level of customer service. This will boost both UPS and GWC equally in the State of Qatar,†said Sheikh Abdulla bin Fahad bin Jassem bin Jabor al-Thani, GWC chairman. “As a Qatari shareholding company, we take every opportunity to provide more services to the nation that has given us such a unique growth platform,†Sheikh Abdulla added.
