UBM plans to edify the food industry by means of Food Safety Summit India in November

United Business Media(UBM) India Pvt Ltd, a trade fair organizing company will be conducting a special two-day Food Safety Summit India, 2011, in order to give more light on the perplexing Rules and Regulations of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006. The summit 3 will act as a guidance to steer the ever-changing regulations on safety as also exploring the most recent progresses on the food safety methods. The conference is to be held from November 29-30, 2011 at the Holiday Inn, Mumbai International Airport, and Mumbai.

The summit will emphasize on the food recall procedures, food safety regulations, minimization of food borne illness, latest food safety analysis techniques, prevention of allergens and microbiological risks, Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS) and inform on certified analytical laboratories.

On November 29, on the first day of the summit, Marico chief , Mr. Prabodh Halde, will talk on regulations on food safety to make sure the companies are acquiescent to the recent Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, Rules and Regulations. Additionally, in a panel conversation, panelists Padmaparna Dasgupta, head, regulatory affairs, GSK Consumer Healthcare; Shaminder Pal Singh, director, food safety, scientific and regulatory affairs, PepsiCo India; Sunil Adulse, the general manager for scientific and regulatory affairs, Coca-Cola India; will confer on the influence of the new food safety regulations on the innovative produce, its progresses, and additives and how it is developing as per the recent act.


On the second day of the summit Sudhir Tamne, the general manager of R&D Foods, Godfrey Philips India; Nimish Shah, the director of safety and environmental assurance centre, Unilever R&D Laboratory; Cathy Moir, the senior food microbiologist, processing microbiology team leader, risk analysis key research area leader, CDIRO Food and Nutritional Sciences;will talk on the recent risk based advances to avert microbiological risks and allergens on the basis of the latest global food safety initiative (GFSI) and to augment the exports of Indian F&B products.
