UAE Parassini souhruda vedi, an association of non resident Indians working and residing in United Arab Emirates from Andoor village in Kannur district, in association with chess association Kannur conducted a one day rapid chess tournament on 04th December 2011 at Parassini Kadavu U.P school auditorium. The tournament was inaugurated by Mrs. Ramla Pakker, Thaliparamba municipal chair person chaired by Mr. Pushpajan, head master Parassini kadavu U.P school. Mr. Balram – secretary, district chess association delivered the welcome speech and Mr. Valsan master – Chairman, UAE Parassini souhruda vedi advisery board Deliver the vote of thanks speech.

The tournament was conducted in senior and junior category. In junior category 94 Nos and in senior category 66 nos players participate in the tournament. In senior category Mr. Abraham Thomas from Vayanadu won the 1st price followed by Pranoy.P.P payyanoor and Abhishek – mayyil won the second & third place. In Junior category Abhiram-Kanjangadu won the first place followed by Jayakrishnan-Cheruvathoor and Mithun.K-Pilaththara won second & third place. Consolation prize to 11 players in senior category and 15 players in junior category also distributed. The prizes was distributed by Mr. K.Kunjambu master, counselor, Thaliparamba municipality.
