TMCA's Conference on Economic Self-Reliance

Tamilnadu Muslim Cultural Association (TMCA), Kuwait has successfully conducted special Conference on the title 'Economic Self-Reliance' on Friday, the 06th April, 2012 held at Social Reform Society, Al-Rawdha,between 04.30 p.m. and 10.00 p.m. for aspiring entrepreneurs who would like to know more in detail with any specific nature of business they might be interested.

The main objective of this Conference is to encourage our Tamil speaking community irrespective of caste, creed and colour etc., especially the low-treated and paid category to concentrate, considering the ample business oppurtunites prevailing in our native, to start business ventures either single proprietorship or corporate set-up, maintaining initially under the direct supervision of their family elders and later-on settling back in our home country achieving 'economic self-reliance' besides contributing to our nation's over-all economic development and more-over living with their loved ones
who they are greatly missing over here.

Our Program were divided into three Parts:

Part-1 (4.30 p.m. till 5.25 p.m) TMCA's activities and services in Tamil

Event started with recital of holy verses from noble Quran by Master Sheriff with its Tamil translation by Vittukatti Br. Mastaan.

Br. Abdul Rahim, General Secretary while welcoming all attendees, spoke on the occasion giving a brief account of TMCA’s activities in serving the masses. Avoor Br. Basheer Ahamed, President in his Presidential address highlighted the importance of holding such a conference at this time of necessity when our economy is booming remarkably encouraging youths, especially the low-paid to utilize their might in their native and live with their loved ones and further briefly elaborating activities of TMCA with a vision to enlighten our high values and Islamic heritage stressing the need of the hour to be united to achieve our goals for a common cause.

Part-2 (5.30 p.m. till 6.00 p.m) Inauguration of Conference and Release of Souvenir

His Excellency the Ambassador of India, Mr. Satish Chand Mehta inaugurated the Conference who in his felicitation address appreciated the efforts of TMCA, largest and oldest Indian association doing its relentless community services during the past 16 years which have been highly regarded and acknowledged among our masses.

Veteran social activist, Br. Mukhtar Marouf, an unmatchable icon in communal services and strongest supporter of TMCA and its activities and currently holding the Presidency of Federation of Indian Muslim Associations, well-known as FIMA addressed the gathering and felicitated appreciating this Conference’s motive and its benefits it is going to produce to its participants and inviting everyone to make use of such a rare Conference and Workshop and make use of the same to its best level.

Mr. Laxminarayanan, President, Tamilnadu Engineers Forum (TEF) in his felicitation address pointed-out lack of self-confidence among us in taking-up new and competitive assignments coping with modern trend and expectations and the necessity of similar such Conference to boost enthusiasm and back-up support encouraging the partipants to utilize this opportunity knocking their door-steps.

His Excellency, the Ambassador of India presented Momento to our Guest Speakers and released our official Souvenir and its copy received by ‘Lucky’ Br. Sulaiman Batcha, Chairman of M/s. Lucky Printing Press being our Main Sponsor followed by Br. S.M. Hyder Ali, Chairman of M/s. TVS Cargo & Travels Co., our Co-Sponsor, in the presence of its Executive Committee.

Part-3 (from 6.30 p.m. till 9.45 p.m) Address by Guest Speakers in Tamil

The following prominent personalities delivered their in-depth lecture in Tamil encouraging each and everyone of us to make use of this Conference and participate in the Workshop planned next day stressing and elaborating the ample opportunities back in our home country.

AA) Mr. Natarajan Ramadoss who retired in 2010 as Commissioner, Department of Commercial Taxes, Government of Puducherry, India and who contributed his might in the over-all economic development of his State and who worked consequently under six Chief Ministers of Puducherry and instrumental in developing various small-scale industries.

BB) Mr. Mohamed Hanifa Mohamed Saleem, who is a well-known educationist and veteran social activist and Founder of his “Social Justice Trust” working for the educational development and communal well-being of our masses.

CC) Dr. Shahul Hameed Peer Mohamed who is Veteranary Doctor by Profession and serving as Professor, Tamilnadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences Universtiy, who is also successfully running Cattle breeding and Live-stock ventures during the past so many years in and around Dindigul area of Tamilnadu State.

Br. S.M. Hyder Ali, Chairman of M/s. TVS Cargo & Travels Co., our Co-Sponsor addressed the gathering enumerating his vast experiences he had in Kuwait from the beginning and until this time as successful businessman and sharing his rich experiences and suggestions with the aspiring entrepreneurs.

This first day Conference ended at about 10.30 p.m. with Vote of Thanks by Br. Asan Mohamed, Deputy General Secretary and dua by Br. Hidayathullah, Secretary – TMCA Events Co-ordination Committee.
