Martyr’s Square

The Martyr Square is a well-known place in the hub of Beirut. Its innermost sculpture honors the Lebanese nationalists, who were executed by the Ottomans during the First World War. Moreover it an area, where a number of Lebanese assembled, subsequent to the assassination of the Lebanese president. The square houses burial chamber, which houses the stained president and the other dead.


Some of the other common remains you can find in the square are an aged cinema opera structure (presently a virgin megastore) and the bronze statue of martyrs. The statue is a work of Renato Marino Mazzacurati, renowned Italian sculptor. You can find the state pierced with bullet holes has now become a representation for all those martyrs who gave their precious lives during the civil war of Lebanon.
