Popular tourist spots in Suva

Suva, the capital city of Fiji is home to some exotic tourists spots. Some of the popular tourist destination, which you can visit are the Parliament house, Shree Lakshmi Narayan temple and the University of South Pacific.


Parliament: The Fiji Parliament is a beautiful building situated on Battery road in Suva. Bearing in mind, the structure was constructed in such a way to preserve the traditional values and art off Fiji. The parliament was constructed in the year 1992. Subsequent to the 2000 coup attempt, the Parliament was closed to the public. However you can take a tour around the complex, if you call the concerned people in advance.


University of Pacific: This is another popular spot in Suva. The place has lovely gardens and lush green lawns. The university is one of the main learning centers in the island. The place with its well equipped state of art infrastructure is a much sought after institute among the students. It has a total strength of 11,000 students. You can take a visit to the elegant botanical garden at the Campus’ North western end. You can also visit the Oceania center, where beautiful carvings, paintings, sculpture are put on exhibit.


Shree Lakshmi Narayan temple: This temple is another popular tourist spot among the visitors. If you happen to visit in August, don’t forget to visit this beautiful orange and blue temple. You can see the body piercing and firewalling activities .The sacred cathedral situated in Holland Street is also known for its unique boat shaped outlook and Fijian draperies. On Sunday you can also hear singing programs performed by the local choir.
