The cats comprise of the home breeds as well as the hybrid savannah cats, which is produced by breeding the home cats with the wild serval cats.

The animals were kept in unhygienic surroundings, with the absence of appropriate medical care and socialization. The animals were seized by the department of Davie County Sheriff. It was found the hybrid savannah cats are not suitable to keep as domestic pets. These animal display wild character and also spray excessively to mark their terrain. The HSUS cautions against owning these animal by individuals.

When the responders came to the spot, they found thirty five cats kept in congested tiny enclosures. They were penned beneath an outside deck. Other animals such as the rabbit, goat and dogs were also kept in pitiable physical surroundings.

The responders are safely rescued the animals and transported them to the isolation center located at the Guilford County Animal Shelter, where they are given appropriate treatment and care.
