Google celebrates 166th birthday of Peter Carl Faberge with multicolored doodle

Russian jeweler Peter Carl Fabergé’s166th birth day was celebrated by the internet search giant Google with a colourful doodle. The renowned jeweler was known for shiny egg which he created by utilizing costly metals and gemstones.
Google doodle has laid out eggs adorned with diamonds, gold, gemstones and precious stones.


Carl Faberge (30th May 1846 to 24th Sept.1920) was born into a Baltic German jeweler, in the Russian city of St.Petersburg.


There is no adequate information on the educational background of Peter Carl Faberge. However some reports reveal that he might have attended a course in the Dresden Arts and Crafts School. To attain additional excellence in his fervor, Peter Carl Faberge took training from renowned German, French, and Russian goldsmiths of his time. Faberge also studied at Paris’ Schloss's Commercial College and spent a considerable part of his lifetime at Europe’s renowned galleries and museums.


In addition to his education, Faberge was also guided by Hiskias Pendin, the workmaster of Faberge’s father. Hiskias served as Faberge’s adviser for a number of years. Faberge married Augusta Julia Jacobs.


Hiskias Pendin passed away in the year 1882, and the whole responsibility for administerating the business fell on Faberge’s shoulder.


Hiskias Pendin’s splendid craftsmanship was honored by Tsar Alexander III in 1885. The house of Faberge was awarded by Alexander III with the title ‘Goldsmith by special appointment to the Imperial Crown'.


A renowned work of Faberge was an imitation of a golden bangle belonging to the 4th century. It was from the Hermitage’ Scythian Treasure. The Tsar found it difficult to differentiate the bangle from the original. Faberge’s works were instance of excellent modern Russian craftsmanship.


While in exile in Switzerland, Carl Faberge passed away on Sept 24, 1920.
