Bogota, April 19 (IANS) Colombian Police have seized over three tonnes of marijuana in the country's Caldas region, Xinhua reported.

 
 Caldas Police Commander Herman Bustamante told reporters that the seizure was made Sunday night by police units deployed on a highway near the coffee town of Chinchina.
 
 The driver of the truck in which the consignment was transported was detained. He was presented before a court.
 
 The seizure will allow Colombian anti-drugs personnel to make "an important research on the route used by drug traffickers from the southern Valle del Cauca department to the north-central city of Medellin", Bustamante added.
