Duties of Consulate Department
The consulate department is responsible for implementation of laws and instructions issued by the respective Ministries and Departments within and outside the Kingdom. This includes the implementation of Geneva Convention.



The department also follows up the implementation of the consulate protection by the Kingdoms missions overseas.


This includes the protection of the Kingdoms interests and the interests of its citizens be they individuals or organizations and providing assistance and guidance to those who are in need of it.



The consulate Department also grants entry visas of various types according to regulations and instructions. In addition to that, the consulate Department authenticates, approves and translates documents when necessary.


Moreover, it coordinates and follows up the work of the Kingdoms missions overseas and also coordinates communications concerning judicial issues and alien affairs between the respective government departments and the Kingdom's missions overseas.


The consulate section also follows up, coordinates the implementation of laws and regulations of Hajj, Umrah and the Islamic Endowments in addition to developing and appropriating rules and regulations in coordination with the respective departments in such a way as to serve the commercial, economic and cultural relations between the kingdom and the other countries.
