Courts, Passport Department to continue work during Eid


RIYADH: The Ministry of Justice, in coordination with the Supreme Judicial Council, will commission forty-five judges to work in forty-one courts across the country during the Eid holidays this year. They will be assisted by administrative staff during the working hours, said the MoJ’s statement on Wednesday.
“The yearly move is designed to attend to the legal needs of the public and to avoid delay in attending to their cases. It also aims to consider urgent cases during the holidays,” the ministry said.
General Courts in various provinces will be operating during Eid holidays, including those in Afif, Kowaiyia, Al-Majmaah, Qunfudah, Rafha, Northern Border province, Onaizah, Hafr Al-Batin , Aflaj, Qurayyat, Wadi Al-Dawaser, Mahayel Asir, Rass, Zulfi, Duba, Al-Qarn, Bisha, Kharj, Hawtat Bani Tamim and Shaqra.
Also, the civil courts in Laith province, Yanbu, Al-Jouf, the Dawadmi province, and in the governorate of Tathleeth will be functioning during the vacation.
The ministry also made it clear that criminal courts will be operational at the following sites: Hail, Abha, Tabuk, Buraidah, Al-Baha, Riyadh, Najran, Jazan region, Al-Hasa, Dammam, Makkah, Khamis Mushayt, Jeddah, Taif, and Madinah.
Meanwhile, the General Directorate of Passports will be working during the holidays in all regions to provide services, especially to those who have emergencies requiring immediate attention during the Eid holidays.
In his statement, Maj. Gen. Sulaiman Yahya, head of the Passports Department, said that as per the directives of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif, deputy premier and minister of interior, all departments will continue their services in all areas and provinces during the Eid holidays.

They will receive public emergency and essential cases that cannot be postponed or executed via electronic passport service procedures.
He called on all citizens and residents to register and take advantage of the e-Passport Services through which they can perform most of the services without the need to appear at the department
