Wellington Indian Association (WIA)

The Wellington Indian association is a benevolent association started in the year 1925, to promote the culture of India to the Indians residing in Wellington.


The organization progresses and encourages the Indian resident’s position in the capital city of Newzealand. An enhanced consideration of the Indian culture and the Hindu religion is encouraged by the association.


The members of the association have the facility of enjoying certain privileges like access to the events on discounts, and other facilities. Advocacy is considered as a key parameter by the association at different stages, the association works in unison with the Government of New Zealand, Indian high commission, and the agencies of the Government, and it has a good rapport with all. The association closely functions with the other cultural organizations for a combined cause and concern.
