Beijing, Sep 4 (IANS) A suspect who altered his appearance through cosmetic surgery to evade arrest for stabbing a man in Shanghai two years ago has been held, police said.


Peng Yanzhao was captured Aug 31 when police raided a brothel in Changzhou city in Jiangsu province, Shanghai Daily reported Sunday.

He told police his name was Peng Yanquan. However, police found a picture of Peng in their database which was slightly different.

The suspect soon confessed that after fleeing to his hometown he used his older brother's identity card.

He also went to a plastic surgery clinic to add a scar to the right side of his forehead and remove a mole from the left forehead, according to the police.

Police said the suspect will remain in custody while they continue with their probe.
