Shaastrotsav: IES Outwitted Others

Indian Educational School (Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan), Kuwait has bagged the first position among the juniors, and the third position in the open category of contestants who competed in the Shaastrotsav 2011 conducted by the NSS COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING Alumni association –Kuwait chapter at Gulf University of Science and Technology Campus, Mishref on 6 May 2011.

The unique event which overshot all expectations of the organizers had many exhibits epitomizing the excellence and scientific exuberance of the budding scientists. The project presented by Bhavanites based on the concept of accelerating the launching of a rocket with the energy formed by the compression of spring attracted the attention of all inquisitive spectators. Instead of depending fully on the fossil fuel energy, this novel and genuine concept propagates the use of spring energy to be used any one stage of fuelling the vehicle. Daksh Sha, Dilip Menon, Harikesh Pradeep and Siddarth Menon of class 10 all proven talents of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan are very happy for having got a chance to prove their mettle on an interschool level competition.

In another open category of contest meant of seniors, Revanth Vishnu Wajallah, Arjun Panicker and Hari Teja, all belonging to the junior sections won the third position against their senior counterparts. Their project was based on the Pascal s Law (Hydraulic Press and Hydraulic Arm). The principal and the whole teaching fraternity joined the victory celebrations with words of blessings and appreciation. Special congratulations went in favour of the whole Department of Science in general and Mr Prasad Jayan, a Senior PGT in a special way.
