London, July 16 (IANS) Scotland Yard has claimed to have captured about one million pornographic images and videos of children from a house in London in the largest ever seizure of its kind.


The haul was discovered during a police raid at the home of Robert James Barrow in east London's Plaistow town, Daily Mail reported Saturday.

Appearing at Southwark Crown Court Friday, the 57-year-old paedophile admitted making and possessing indecent images of children.

According to Metropolitan police, Barrow is believed to have amassed the enormous collection over 15 years. He also shared them with other paedophiles.

He was arrested after he confessed to officers that he had images stored on his personal computer before it was examined.

"This is the largest seizure of indecent images of children that the Met's Paedophile Unit has recovered from one individual. Barrow's activities were on an industrial scale," said Detective Inspector Noel McHugh.

He is to be sentenced Sep 16.
