Ranchi, Sep 19 (IANS) The father of a Ranchi youth, who was arrested on suspicion of being an agent of Pakistani spy agency ISI, Monday denied the charges and said his son was a businessman.


Fazulur Rehman's son Faizal was arrested in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur district Sunday.

"My son is innocent. He is a businessman. He is not an ISI agent. He had gone to New Delhi four days ago for business purposes," Fazlur told reporters here.

Faizal, a resident of Ranchi, was married to a Pakistani girl.

"My son had visited Pakistan one year ago. His wife stays in Ranchi," he said.

Faizal and his family live in a Heavy Engineering Corporation (HEC) quarter here.

Based on the Uttar Pradesh Police's inputs, Ranchi police Sunday searched the house of Faizal. According to police sources, some incriminating documents were found.
