Indian-origin doctor charged with sexually abusing patientse

London, Aug 12 (IANS) An Indian-origin doctor has been accused of grabbing the hands of sedated women patients as they lay on an operating table and fondling his private parts with them, a British medical council was told.

Medical workers told the the General Medical Council they saw consultant Narendra Sharma move the women's hands below the table and make "stroking movements", The Sun reported.

Julie Ackroyd said Sharma's trousers were undone and he was "exposed" while acting as an anaesthetist during abortions at a clinic in Manchester.

She said she saw a "stroking movement", which she considered inappropriate.

Counsel Tim Smith said Sharma appeared to be using patients' hands "for his own sexual stimulation".

Sharma has denied doing anything wrong.
