IKFS CELEBRATED FIRST ANNIVERSARY

Indo-Kuwait Friendship Society has celebrated first anniversary on Friday 1st June at the premises of Gulf Institute for Strategic &Technological Studies. Chief Guest, Engineer Abdul Razzak Rumane, Former president of “Frontliners- Kuwait” inaugurated the function. Dr. Rumane said that he is delighted to attend the first anniversary celebrations of IKFS and happy to know that IKFS is striving to develop as a best platform to work together and at the same time trying to preserve Indian identity and respecting both Indian and local cultural traditional values thru’ abiding the laws of the country. Dr. Rumane added that he feels very comfortable and proud of Dr. Ghalib Al-Mashoor, who is heading this Organization, recognized him as a well known personality to both Senior Kuwaiti and Indian citizens as well as for his exemplary services towards the community for more than 20 years. Dr. Rumane showed respect to IKFS Executives while identifying a row of VIP Patrons such as DR. KIRAN BEDI, IPS, (Former Jail Superintendant and reformist), Advocate R B Sree Kumar, IPS, (Former DGP Gujarat Govt.), Dr. M.K. Muneer, M.B.B.S. (The present Minister of town development, Govt. of Kerala) , Muzammil Malik, Industrialist and Philanthropist and Sayid Munwarali Shihab Thangal, (Leader of Minority Youth Forum- the son of Former Spiritual Leader & President of IUML Late: Panakkad Sayid Mohamed Ali Shihab Thangal) etc…

Dr. Ghalib Al-Mashoor in his presidential speech thanked the audience and guests for attending and gracing the function. He said that “Promoting affection and friendships among the people hailing from various corners of the globe can be done only with the inner zeal and the spirit of restoring peace and harmony”. Thus, we have to think that there are many advantages of joining with a society of friends but also, there are various things we need to consider that the “kind of society” we join in, enabling to the person to shape strong personality. All we need to be a part of this society is a complete heart, open mind and helping hands. IKFS is a not-for profit . Its activities include in various socio, cultural and friendship developments while coordinating with other Indian Associations in Kuwait. We believe that the prospective members and volunteers of IKFS need to be self-motivated for voluntary works. We should be ready that to respect the local culture and traditions and laws of the country. We must also keep in mind that - once we make friends, they are forever, never to be forgotten. Dr. Al-Mashoor requested to fill the membership form which can be downloaded from the website (www.indo-kuwaitfriendshipsociety.com) to become a member.

Khalid Damodhar said, IKFS is doing wonderful jobs for the community. Sayed Zoheb and Eng. Fadal also delivered felicitation speeches. They have shown keen interest to further spreading the message of IKFS to their friends.
Appointing Medical Missions in each Indian Embassies abroad first was raised by IKFS. IKFS was the first Association who sent Appreciation letter to Smt. Sonia Gandhi, the Chairperson of UPA Government, for recent passing of the “ Child Protection Bill 2011”. Several memorandums addressed to Minster of Health, Minister of Overseas, Minister of Home Affairs etc…, Govt. of India, also been sent related to various community issues. IKFS has shown interest to raise issues from time to time which is vested to act upon each Association for defending NRI issues and sometimes in general issues, either it is in the form of appreciation letter or in the form of protest notes.

During the Event, “The Excellence Award 2011” for the Top Scorers in the Medical & Engineering examinations were also delivered to Dr. Noora Sayid Zoheb, MBBS., and Eng. Esraa’ Mazhar, B.Arch. was also handed over by Dr. Rumane. Sayid Zoheb has received the Award on behalf of DR. NOORA, and Eng. Fadal has received the Award on behalf of Eng. Esraa’.

Dr. Abdul Razzak Rumane presented prizes, Certificates and Gifts to each winners of “IKFS Arabic Expertise, Art & Calligraphy competitions” held at Salmiya Indian Model School on 11th May 2012. Competitors who received their awards included Mrs. Sabiha Bilgrami, (The winner of First Place in Hindi Calligraphy), Ms. Kiran Khalid Damodar, the winner of First Place in Urdu Calligraphy) Ms. Zainab Ghalib (winner of first places in Arabic Calligraphy, Quiz (Islamic) and Quiz (General) competitions, Also were present to receive the awards were the 2nd place holders Nisrin Merchant (The winner of second place in Hindi Calligraphy, Ms. Afraah Khalid Damodar, (Winner of second place in Urdu Calligraphy), Ms.Semah, Sumayya and Ms. Shymaa (winners of Second places in Quiz (General), Islamic Quiz, Arabic Calligraphy competitions.

30 minutes presentation were also delivered by Eng. Sayid Fadal Nizar, touching all aspects of “Management skills and Proper Standardization of the projects or Companies”. All of them were enjoyed the lecturing of Eng. Fadal, who works as a Senior Consulting Engineer at “Global Experience Co.”

Iftekhar Ahmed, Treasurer of IKFS welcomed the guests. Khalid Damodar, Sayid Zoheb, delivered short felicitation speech. Eng. Fadal Nizar presented a multi-media presentation and his lecturing was related to Management Skills and standardization of the Companies lasted for 30 minutes. All the audience enjoyed his lecturing presentation also. Light refreshments were served. The Industrialist and Patron of IKFS, Muzammil Malik who is on business trip has co-sponsored the prizes and awards for the winners.
