Haller Park

Haller Park is a natural park situated in the coastal district of Maombasa’s Bamburi area. From a quarry wasteland it has been converted into a paradise of ecology. It is a place for housing a variety of plants and animal species. Until the year 2007, it had the famous attractive friendship animal pair of tortoise and hippopotamus, known as Own and Mzee.

You will find the haller park an excellent opportunity to be in close affinity and feed the animals.

As you are into the threshold a host of vervet monkeys and tortoises will welcomes you. You can enjoy seeing how the giraffes are fed and you can also take pleasure in serving food to a few of them. There is also a snake park housing deadly venomous snake.

You can also visit the crocodile park, and see the giant alligators basking under the sun.

Some of the other residents of the park , which you can see are mammals like Wahlberg's Epauletted Fruit Bat, Felis Serval (Serval cat), Sitatunga, Defassa Waterbuck, Eland, Suni and Oryx, birds like Yellow billed stork, Crowned crane, Oxpecker, Egyptian geese, Marabou and Guineafowl.

Admission ticket

The entrance ticket for each person is 75 US dollars.

Opening hours

The park is opened every day from 800 Hours to 1700 Hours, as well as on all public holidays.
