From April 2012 , Dubai to connect residence visa to Emirates Identity cards

It was announced by EIDA (Emirates Identity Authority) that from April 2012, the residences visas will be linked by Dubai to the Emirates Identity cards.


EIDA said, from the month of April 2012, the linking of ID cards will be made mandatory in Dubai. In synchronization with the General Department of Residency and Naturalization, the process will be carried out.


The Emirates Identity Authority emphasizes that the registration of ID cards is compulsory for delivering and renewal of residence visas in Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Fujairah, Ajman, and Ras Al Khaimah. And Umm Al Quwain.


In the meantime, the concerned authorities said six more centers for registration will be opened at the centers for preventive medicine at Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah, and Ajman.


Therw will be some 26 registration centers along with new additions. All the new centers will be spread across in Ras Al Khaimah, and Ajman. In Dubai these centers will be situated in Satwa, Al Quoz, and Jafza, while in Abu Dhabi it will be in Al Jazira.


EIDA further said that at the Al Quoz center, 700 individuals can register every day. At the Jafza and Satwa centers, a total number of 250 and 1000 individuals can register respectively.
