Former Egyptian president Mubarak hospitalised
Moscow, April 13 (IANS/RIA Novosti) Former Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak has been taken to a hospital in the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh, Al Jazeera reported Tuesday, citing security sources.
Mubarak, 82, has been living in his villa at Sharm el-Sheikh since he stepped down and handed power to the military last month following an 18-day popular uprising against his government.
Mubarak and his family have been banned from leaving the country. He was expected to be questioned by prosecutors Tuesday over alleged corruption and the heavy-handed crackdown on protesters.
He,however, has a history of health problems and underwent surgery at a German clinic last year for an inflamed gall bladder.
