Dual award winner praises modern technology

Kirit Patel,Optometerist of the year felt ecstatic , at the Optician awards, after receiving two honors, he praised the utilization of modern technology in day today’s profession.


Patel,who has been in the profession for two decades, and to honor his Radlett Opticians practice, at Radlett, Hertfordshire, was also bestowed with Technology Practice of the Year Award.


Later in an interview, he said it that without technology they can’t work on optics any longer, it just flying on an airplane with a chart and compass and without GPS, they would in fact, be lost in practice, devoid of technology.


Patel also expressed his gratitude to the globalised patient base for selecting him the Optometrist of the year.


He further said that he felt thrilled and energized and express his thanks to all those who selected him, including ophthalmologists, optometrists and patients.


Besides on the roll, in this year Optician awards were Monkseaton’s N and J Robinson, optometrists, Tyne and wear securing the Independent Practice of the Year prize for the second time in a span of three years.


The individual award went to Martin Valey for winning the Dispensing Optician of the year, and to Nick Howard for winning the Contact Lens Practitioner of the Year.
