Bengali association of South Africa

In the year 2005, a non-profit association known as the Bengali association of South Africa (BASA) was established. The association was formed for the people who have interest in language, culture, literature, heariatge and culture of Bengal. This association is not only for the Bengalis, but also for other Indians who have interest in the Bengali culture.

The man objective of the association is to produce to develop a pleasant blend of the Bengal culture along with affluent values together with the today’s high end technologies. The association regularly conducts social activities, religious festivals and cultural events.

Some of the religious festivals they conduct are ayudha pooja, saraswathi pooja and the social events they conduct are the Bengali New Year (Poila Boisakh) and other activities.
