What should be India's stand in respect of Syrian situation
Dear Friends,
As all of know that Syria is a friendly country with India. Though it is an Islamic country, it is multicultural and multiethnic; and more importantly an old cold world ally of India. India has business interest and India wishes that Syria remains a peaceful country for its people and to the rest of the World. However, the events of last few months have disturbed India. For many of us, it is not easy to decide whether we should sympathise with the Government or with the rebels. India until yesterday was with the Government of Syria but changed its stand yesterday by voting in favour of tougher sanctions in UNSC, although both China and Russia have vetoed the proposal.
We all know that it is not an indigeneous revolution. It has lot of support from neighbouring countries and western powers including USA with the sole aim of removing its present Government. So what should be India's stand and what should be our long term interest.
Personally I feel that a country has the sovereign power to be ruled by its own people and no country including UNSC has any right to interfer in its internal matters. However, the West and USA along with their friends are not favoring this eternal truth. They move the pendulum of justice and legality as per their political gains.
I would like to invite the opinion of our friends on this issue.

cold war ally or new friends, we must support aspirations of people.  It is true that there is a civil war, guns pointed out at each other.  Present regime is incapable of controlling this from past 3 years.  If in any part of the decent world if any body cannot control law and order they are removed with constitutional power.  There is no consitutional power functioning.  The regime has no moral rights to continue, to stop the bloodshet it should pass reigns of running the country by either inviting opposition or show some intent to handing over to neutral adminstration.  a good example can be set up by inviting Islamic Organisation or UNO.  Only if the regime is interested to leave the power.  In Arab world you might have seen, how rulers despots cling on to the power.
