MANAMA: Bahrain "needs all dedicated and hard-working hands to thrive and prosper", the Premier said.

He urged all social segments to exert every effort to promote their country's development and progress and confront any attempt to subvert national security and stability.

"Meeting needs of citizens in towns and villages is our ultimate goal," said His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa as he received a delegation from Janabiya and Qurayah villages in the Northern Governorate.

"The government is sparing no effort to meet citizens' needs and spearhead development to ensure decent living conditions for them," he said.

The Premier directed ministries and government departments to study the needs of both villages and submit follow-up reports.

He instructed officials to meet representatives of the villages and brief them on planned projects and programmes which will be carried out in accordance with allocated budgets and timeframes.

He affirmed the government's resolve to meet the needs of villages, in the Northern Governorate and across Bahrain, so that citizens receive all the housing, educational and health services they deserve.

The Premier said demands and needs outlined by the delegation would be incorporated in the Government Action Plan, adding that all parts of Bahrain will have their fair share of development, taking into account fast urban and demographic growth.

Led by MP Majid Ibrahim Al Majid, the delegation also included heads of societies, charity funds and villagers' representatives.

On behalf of the villagers, Janabiya Charity Society chairman Hussain Youssef Hassan hailed the Premier's role in building Bahrain and promoting its development and progress.

"Every landmark milestone achieved in Bahrain in its modern history bears the mark of the Premier," he said, hailing his farsightedness and wisdom in promoting the homeland's development.
