Maruti to erect diesel plant in Gurgaon.

New Delhi: Maruti Suzuki, the nation’s biggest automobile giant is to spend Rs.2, 600 crore to erect a new diesel plant at its Gurgaon division. It has also decided to broaden its research &development activity at Rohtak by the year 2014.


Maruti’s Board of Directors in a meeting has endorsed the installation of the new diesel planet with a capital of Rs. 1,700 crore; the board has also given green signal to the company to extend .its R&D activities to the tune of Rs900croes at its forthcoming Rohtak Research and Development center.


Mr.R.C.Bhargava, the chairman of Marti Suzuki India (MSI), said that they are planning to build the diesel inside the premises of its Guragaon facility at an investment of Rs.2500 crores He further added this brand innovative unit will be solely own by MSI.


The chairman said the board of directors had given the nod to for a further investment of 900 crores to put op various amenities such as emission testing and safety check.


The organization is intending to erect the plant in three stages, and operations are to kickstart by the middle of year 2013, with a preliminary 1.5 lakh unit capacity for a year.
