Relocating from US to kuwait
Hi Friends,
                 I have got an job offer from a Kuwait based company.I have been offered 1200 KD as salary per month.Am currently in US.I have few doubts regarding my offer and cost of Living.
1. My offer letter mentions that I will be in open contract and can any one please tell me the pros and cons of this kind of offer(Open Contract).Is your job safe or you will be in situation like Hire and Fire in such offers.
2. My next question is how much can I save in the salary I will be earning. I will be alone for first few years since my wife is pursuing her Higher studies in India which will take at least 3 years for her to complete.My wife and daughter will join me after that if am still in Kuwait.
3.My wife is a doctor and she is doing her MD in Biochemistry and can any one please tell me how is the scope for her career in Kuwait.

Am sorry for making this post a lengthy one.But any info on the above will be of great help to me.Thanks.

Hi,

1. As far as I know this type of contract is for unlimited period but not less than one year. They can renew the contract if they want. Please confirm with them these details. Also confirm the following details. a) Annual Vacation days, b) tickets for you and your family. c) Car for transportation.

2. 1200 KD is good enough to work and save. If you are alone you can share the room with some one it will cost you around 70 to 100 KD, for food and other expense it will cost you around 100 KD. So you can save 1000 KD that is tax free salary.

If you bring your family the flat alone will cost you minimum 200 KD for 2 bed room, hall and kitchen and for school it will cost you 300 KD per semester (every 4 months) other expense as you go.

3. Your wife can get a job very easily most of the hospitals here are running by Keralites only.

Hi Sharuk,
                     Thanks for your prompt posting.I had discussed about Annual Vacation it is going to be 30 days and Air ticket will be incurred only for me by the company.No car allowance and I have a question does Hospitals in Kuwait accept doctors having MD degree from India.
